[ipad] iPad dropped on hard floor - power button stuck

As described. Mr gee40’s iPad has been dropped and the power button is now stuck in. Any suggestions on how to free it?

A dremel and a careful, steady hand...

Scratch around it to free the splattered metal and it might allow the button to pop up.

Try using a blob of blu-tac*. Press it on firmly and leave it somewhere cool, so it's not too stretchy, then try to pull it up in one go (rather than peeling it) and it may bring the button up with it.

Blob of super glue with a matchstick or similar. You can then try gently manoeuvring it round and then cut it off when it's working. I would also try a scalpel round the switch - probably hard enough to slice off small slivers of the case.
