Anyway to freeze the video output from laptop to Smart TV?

The year 6 primary teacher has a Smart TV, but for some bizarre reason this version doesn't come with a remote control so the teacher cant easily pause the image.

 

Are there are workarounds, perhaps something that can freeze the hdmi output on the laptop itself.

 

Any other ideas????

Use extend rather than duplicate?

 

(Assuming they want "concentrate on this while I check Insta" on the screen)
