kennysarmy Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 After contacting TrustMarque (Part of Capita) who we purchase our MS licences through and asking how we purchase Microsoft Windows 10 Support, this was their reply: Unfortunately it appears Microsoft support plans are not available to schools through OVS-ES as plan or as a Software Assurance benefit only via what Microsoft term their CSP offering (which would basically mean you moving your current licensing across to a CSP partner which is a more expensive than your current OVSES and tends to be billed monthly) . What does this mean?
disk Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 We choose to utilize Microsoft Premier Support for any Microsoft product. You can pay per-incident, or engage in a support contract. We paid for a full year of service when we were planning the migration from on-prem Exchange to O365, but afterwards, decided to just open an incident when needed. You can buy packs of "incidents" too for a reduced rate. The per-incident way is for break/fix type issues, while the contract can also be used for project planning and guidance (very helpful if you are planning something huge or don't quite have the necessary skillset/knowledge in your team). https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/msservices/premier-support
dubsdj Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 I don't rate their support, recently I rang them regarding an issue with Teams in the admin portal and they asked me if I had tried rebooting and reinstalling windows? I thought, what is this?? XBOX support?!
