Password tool for teachers that does not need .NET 3.5

Having trouble getting .NET 3.5 installing consistently across site to run Burconix pw changer for the teachers.

Is there an alternative PW reset tool that has been programmed to run on the later versions of .NET Windows 10

Struggling to find one at the moment

Find a CD of the version of windows you have, this is for 2004. Browse the CD and go to sources\sxs and look for these two files.

 

microsoft-windows-netfx3-ondemand-package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~.cab

Microsoft-Windows-NetFx3-OnDemand-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~en-US~.cab

 

Now run the following command in the folder that the files are in -

dism /online /add-package /packagepath:microsoft-windows-netfx3-ondemand-package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~.cab

 

You can push this out with SCCM, create a task with the command and create a package for the cab files.

If your using exchange/ o365 you can setup your own automated password changer with little work..

 

In fact any mailbox service would probably do I just know how to do it with MS products and know I can secure it.

I had tested this on 1809, but now we have 1909 and realised that this broke so fixed it with method you said, but we have 2004 too!

Do I need the files from each build in the source folder then?

We use AD Account reset tool by CJWDEV its light weight, doesn't require dot net and can be locked down via GPO

Do you know how to use this program to restrict staff who are a member of a security group and for them to only change passwords in the Student OU? I've done this but getting a Access is Denied message although not sure if its windows 10 related as the program is quite old now.
