I've got a Windows 2016 server with two VM's and have all the correct licensing in place for it.

I need to do some testing so have setup a seeprate computer with my Windows Server install.

Do I need extra licensing for a machine that will just be used for testing?

Will the moment I connect it to the net it cause issues for my current active server?

Many thanks for the help.

Not if it's just going to be running for a week or two - there's a grace period before activation is required. It used to be 120 days in the "old days", but I'm not sure what it is now.

And if you need a bit longer, run 'slmgr -rearm' from an elevated command prompt. :)
