snagrat Posted August 26, 2020 Posted August 26, 2020 I have inherited a system that had SDS setup last year. Teams wasn’t really used so I’m not worried about the data but would be good to understand the process. I have created the CSVs and am ready to import but have some questions: 1) Do I just upload the new CSVs into the existing profile, or should I create a new profile 2) What happens to the Teams in the current Profile? Will they auto Archive when the profile expires? 3) If I have a mistake in a CSV with a username does SDS feed this back as an error? I’m hoping any user errors will not stop the process from starting and I can simply fix the CSV and re-upload. Think that’s its for now.
3s-gtech Posted August 26, 2020 Posted August 26, 2020 1) You can use the same profile 2) You should run the cleanup once the old sync has expired, which gives you a choice of archive/removal. 3) An error will be picked up in the pre-sync check.
FragglePete Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Can I just jump in on this - as I'm not sure whats going on with ours at the moment. Our profile expired, and with all the timetable changes, groups changes, etc going on - I took the opportunity the essentially expire all the Groups/Teams that were created and start a fresh. So, we now have the tenant full of groups which start with Exp0920_* (these are showing as Active). I've since created a new profile and upload all the necessary .CSV files generated with the Salamander tool and this is showing no errors but has not created anything new ie, no new groups/teams have been created. Am I missing something? Done something wrong here? Pete
3s-gtech Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 You should archive the old Teams in SDS first, so they’re not Active any more. Teachers and students can still access them as read-only if you set that. Otherwise, when you next sync, you should see the new groups sync across.

I'm pretty sure I checked the Archive Tick box when I did the cleanup tool. Most confused now. Pete
FragglePete Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Ok - I just hit the Reset Sync button on the profile, and it now appears to have created a new set of Groups with Teams - so would appear to be working again. I assume the 'Expired' teams/groups be deleted/removed after a certain period of time? Pete
