[sims] SIMS AIF import for admissions

I am just wondering if there is anyone out there who uses the application import file to bring in their admissions data?

 

We are currently looking to use this import to bring in data from another system but although we can create the file, we get strange things happening when we import into SIMS, eg every record is flagged with the mailing point, it drops in additional new phone numbers when we match to a known record on SIMS so we have obsolete information and new information on the record

 

We are scratching our heads, so I just wondered if anyone else used this or had issues...………….

Yes, i've been creating ATF from a PHP/Google sheet for about 5 years.

 

We don't use mailing point so won't have noticed that.

 

Phone numbers we do set, with some formulae/logic when I generate the ATF to make sure an 07** number is set as mobile even if they give it us as home number, etc etc.

 

At the end of the day, the ATF import from our parent-provided data is 200% better than the rubbish we get from primary schools (CTFs) and from LA (original ATF).
