Hi guys,

We seem to have hit a wall here with our latest round of builds. We're trying to reimage using MDT with the latest ADK installed but once the task sequence runs and it completes the 'applying operating system' task, then reboots, it reboots to a flashing white underscore. It's as if the drive isn't found and there's no boot sector.

I have tried forcing these machines to rebuild as both MBR and GPT layouts, but they all end up with the same end result.

The machines in question are HP Compaq 8000's - old I know but they serve a limited use here.

What's odd is that the machines build no problem on another network using SCCM. Any pointers at all?

Cheers

Have you tried switch secure boot off and legacy boot back on on these devices.

Also if you have attempted a build already and failed you may need to diskpart clean the hdd

In MDT strike F8 I think should open cmd prompt

Diskpart

List disk

Select disk # (being the disk number normally 0)

Clean

Exit

Restart

Just a quick update.

I managed to get around this by disabling the format and partition drive job in the task sequence. Thankfully the drives were already partitioned correctly on machines that had been prebuilt.

It appears that any drive was being formatted as GPT rather than the specified MBR format causing the unreadable boot partitions.
