Morning All,

Hope everyone is keeping relatively cool in the heat!

I'm currently helping a relative who has recently installed the May feature update - since installing this on their computer they have found that Windows keeps prompting them for their Onedrive and Outlook credentials after every computer startup.

When checking the Credentials Manager, I've found that their logins are stored in there, but Windows still prompts for credentials regardless. I even tried removing them and then re-entering them via the relevant programs, but no joy.

Another fix I also came across was to switch to a local user account and then back to a Microsoft user account (current account setup) - however, the option to switch is not available under the 'Your Info' section in settings.

From researching, there definitely seems to be a bug with credentials in this release of Windows 10. I also tried installing the latest preview of the cumulative update - this seemed to work for a day, but broke again this morning.

I've currently advised the relative to wait for the latest round of Windows Updates (as its 'Patch Tuesday' today I believe) and see if this solves the problem. Failing that, I'm starting to think that his user profile has become a bit borked and was just going to create him a fresh one and move relevant data across to it.

Was just wondering if anyone else had experienced similar joys with the May update?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :D

Are they signed into two accounts at all in Office etc? I've had similar before with a personal + work account being signed in, and the work one kept trying to upgrade to a higher edition than the personal which kicked it out everytime it did it

Not that I'm aware of, but I could double check...

Under the Settings App > Accounts > Email & Accounts they currently have their Office 365 Personal account signed in (one used for their Microsoft Account to log onto the computer and for the Office 365 version installed) and their PlusNet account which is used by Outlook for email access. Both accounts use the same email address, so could this potentially be causing confusion do you think?

Saying that, it never seemed to cause problems when they were using previous versions of Windows 10, but could be worth a check!

I would have restored them back to the previous feature update - but was unaware that there were only 10 days where you could do that, so we've missed the opportunity sadly. The machine is a personal computer and is not domain joined just in case that helps 😉
