Disease Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 I am running SCCM 2020 and our machines run Education version of win 10. Has anyone managed to upgrade their win 10 machines to the latest version using the Windows 10 Servicing feature? I only see updates for business and consumer editions for 1909? Thanks
Steve21 Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 I take it you have the products (1903+later) and classifications (security + upgrades) set ok on SCCM? Steve

Thanks It is the 'business editions' that is needed for Windows 10 Education. It hasn't been listed as an update for just Windows 10 Education since... 1703. 2
Steve21 Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 It is the 'business editions' that is needed for Windows 10 Education. It hasn't been listed as an update for just Windows 10 Education since... 1703. Business should still apply to Edu ones, as it's just volume licensing isn't it? The other thing is I take it people have been adding ESD as a MIME type on their WSUS servers? Just wondering if that's why some of you might have stopped receiving the updates Steve 1
Steve21 Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Haha Well put it another way. Whether or not it actually applies to Edu installs, it won't stop it showing in SCCM unless there's another issue Like filtering out, ESD files blocking, or the correct settings for sync'ing updates etc It'll pull every update down (and/or show them as an option), just won't apply them to the SUP when it runs that task Steve
mikemcsharry Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 Thanks for this reply - just run into the same 'challenge'. Just a quick query before I let loose on one of them, after you run it, what does the licencing show and are there any licence number changes needed?

The licencing on VLSC doesn't change to my knowledge as it's already activated, no changes needed to the licence number or product key. They only time you would need to do that is if you were changing deliberately from Home to Pro or Pro to Education/Enterprise, etc.
