chekmate1984 Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 Hi all Looking to move our shared drives to cloud. We at present have Office 365 A1 Looking to move to the storage cloud rather than one drive. Do we need to upgrade the above license to A2/A3 or is there another route? Also has anyone else use storage or one drive and can advice which is better? Want to move all home drives first then the shared drives later Thanks
foofighterjim Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 (edited) Not overly helpful in getting you to your goal but I just think of it like this: OneDrive = My Documents SharePoint = Shared Drives Edit: You may find this helpful in deciding what license option is best: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/office-365-platform-service-description/microsoft-365-education Edited July 15, 2020 by foofighterjim
jblackburnHWGA Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 I've not got as far as the staff share to sharepoint yet but it follows the same sort of process. You need the sharepoint migration tool to move the docs from on prem to cloud I used this guide for the onedrive settings http://www.edugeek.net/forums/cloud-services/208871-replacing-network-area-my-docs-onedrive.html And i used this website to sort settings for Onedrive so it loads from program files rather than appdata which greatly helps login times https://byteben.com/bb/installing-the-onedrive-sync-client-in-per-machine-mode-during-your-task-sequence-for-a-lightening-fast-first-logon-experience/
