The Bury Grammar Schools are a family of independent, selective, day schools for girls and boys aged 3 to 18, which combines a strong tradition of academic excellence with the best of modern educational practice. We are recruiting for a skilled IT Technician to join our team at BGS for a fixed term period of 6 months, starting as soon as possible. Under the general supervision of the Senior IT Technicians and the Head of IT Services, the IT Technician will install and support personal computers and network operations; provide hardware and software planning and evaluation; provide problem solving and training for end users; and ensures system efficiency and integrity. The hours will be around 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (hours may vary). The salary for this role will be up to £20,044.

 

We are looking for someone who has experience in; working effectively as part of a team, providing excellent customer service, diagnosing faults on networks (including peripheral equipment). Experience with Windows 7/10, Microsoft Office and other common software is also desirable.

 

This role is suitable for individuals who possess good interpersonal skills, with good time management and have the ability to communicate effectively with all users on different levels. This individual must be willing to undertake further training and desire to continuously learn and develop their skills further.
