Jaan Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 Any Bromcom reps? After a play with a "Demo" instance if at all possible. Not after a remote session demo or anything like that (just yet)......it's not me that needs convincing. Mainly after some info with regards the pricing model. Is it "module" based or "You get it all"? whats included in the "base" package if it is module based......whats the price of each of the modules etc. Cheers
supportman Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 There are 3 tiers to their pricing but you can just buy the basic system without the addons such as My Child at school. They should be able to sort you out with a usable web demo pretty easily. Its a good system from our initial impression, much easier to use than Sims and does a lot more. I went into SLT with the idea of convincing them and it took about 2mins of them looking at a fully web based system with inbuilt comms, room bookings, assesment and behaviour etc to be very impressed. The teacher app just made it look even better. The only real issue we had was we wanted the whole package but the costs are very high compared to looking at Capita Sims. But if you make the case for getting rid of all your 3rd party Add-ons it becomes easier to justify.

Thanks for your time
supportman Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 Not sure to be honest, we just bought everything There's a few details in the brochure. https://www.bromcom.com/Resources/Brochures/Secondary.pdf
paulkerton Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 Tell them about Capita selling up. The uncertainty that brings might make them think about the move more.
pete Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 Does Bromcom supply MFA as part of the standard package?
Bromcom_John Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 (edited) @pete, you will need to forgive my ignorance but it is very hot here and the brain isn't firing on all cylinders.. MFA? Do you mean Multi Factor Authentication? If you do then it can be activated in a couple of forms on the system, including the standard package. Edited June 24, 2020 by elsiegee40 1

Browser-based access from anywhere is lovely, but it means multi-factor auth needs to be turned on for everyone. If you've got a brochure / technical guide about the security side of Bromcom, I'd be interested.

RootsSchImp Posted June 25, 2020 Posted June 25, 2020 You can find lots of info on MIS providers from their G Cloud - govt digital market place submissions here https://www.digitalmarketplace.service.gov.uk/ If you're a secondary looking to move into the cloud as well as Bromcom it's worth checking out Arbor and ISams, which like Bromcom are at the fully featured but pricier end of the market. Or if costs are more of a constraint maybe consider Pupil Asset and RM Integris . Even if you don't have to follow an official procurement procedure, IMO it's worth defining your requirements and inviting bids from at least 3 suppliers.
