Backup Assist + Portal USB Hard Drives

Hi All

 

Is anyone using Backup Assist Software and backing up to Portal USB Hard Drives?

 

School we have currently using RDX Tapes, they can be quite pricey per tape and the school is in need of higher capacity backup drives

 

Was exploring the possiblity instead of using RDX tapes, why not backup to a portable USB Hard Drive instead be much cheaper

 

Does anyone use this method? or does anyone know if it works succesfully?

I've never tried it but it should be easy enough to test. You'd need the removable device to have the same drive letter each time, but essentially configure the BackupAssist job to use a path on that drive letter as the destination.
