Paper maps

I collect old maps of the area I live in as I’m a bit of a steam train fan and I like to see old maps of all the old branch lines.

I have a (slightly weird) friend who always buys a map whenever he visit part of the UK that he doesn;t already have a map for

 

after a while it developed into a hobby to have a map for every part of the country - but only if he visits it

 

then they started to be so out of date that he needed new ones

 

 

but - being weird - he keeps the old ones and has them all filed in a bookcase in his hall

 

as he is the same age as me, this makes for a very interesting historical comparison about how things have changed

 

 

her also has several thousand (probably more) pictures of trains

 

and buses

 

all properly logged and categorised in a database

No chance - he would regard anything to do with horses as being FAR to close to exercise

 

he once closed his account with the Birmingham Midshires Building Society when they changed their logo to be 2 people wearing tracksuits!!

(OK maybe their savings rates dropped at the same time - but the tracksuit thing seems more likely with him!!)
