2008 Hyper-V licensing

Just wondered if anyone knows how using Hyper-V works with the Microsoft Schools Agreement. I've read the info about the ability to run a number of instances on a hyper-v server depending on which 2008 license you have but can't find anything regarding School Agreements.

I don't believe the Schools agreement entitles you to anything extra for hyper-v, it just depends on which version of server you license.

One instance for standard, four for Enterprise and unlimited for Datacenter.

We are running 2003 R2 with Softgrid and have that licenced through campus with SA Hyper-V would be basicly the same agreement depending on the way you intend on running network:D

I got a reply from my licensing guy.

 

Its 1 for 1 for the Server 2008 standard license so you can install 1 instance on to that server license without having to purchase anymore licenses.

 

If you upgrade to to the 2008 enterprise then you can use 4 (think its 4) guest vms without paying any extra. Its onyl £70+vat for enterprise compared to £21 each for server licenses... Not worth me spending £10k on new kit to save £14 a year just yet.
