Quick question, Chrome Management Licences

Can the chrome device management licences be used with any Chromebook ? Say for instance buy a load cheap from say Argos and enrol them ?

 

Any 14" Chromebook recommendations ?

Yes, the management licences just apply to the first device that enrols in your domain. So, any Chromebook will work.

 

That said, they cannot be reused with me devices when old ones are removed (there is an exception for replacing broken devices I believe).

 

I'd be surprised if you could get them cheaper at Argos than through a decent reseller though.

Speak to C-Learning. We bought some HP EE Chromebooks from them, no complaints and a decent price. Came with 3 year warranty, wont get that at Argos.

I think the reason that one is so cheap is that it is an older model now - support ends for it in 2025.

 

This year's models are supported in 2028.

Good point, not sure if chromebooks in a school environment would last the 8 years though

 

I think we're starting with teachers first, hence the slightly bigger screens

Just noticed a hidden cost when it comes to newer chromebooks especially for classroom connectivity (projectors etc.), they only have USB-C outputs. This would mean buying converters or a USB-C hub \ docking station which would add 20-50 quid per device depending what you want. That's been the case for a few years. Adapters work well from what I've seen. We have adapters with USB-C to VGA and HDMI built into one adapter.

 

The ones we have still have USB3 too.
