Web and/or WebDAV to frontend SMB/netapp storage

Hi All,

 

Since we're all trapped in our houses we're looking at how we can get people easy access to their files on our Netapp storage. Most of it is hidden behind DFS for ease of management.

 

Cloud storage is something we have but there's still no clear strategy on it. We have Box which is costing limbs, and there are plans to move to o365 and onedrive but these mean cost and disruption and University only moves as fast as they want to.

 

I notice a few places (Leicester and Warwick) have fairly slick looking web interfaces to manage this sort of thing. I could bodge together an apache or IIS server to allow read-only access to user's files etc but that seems like it's solving half the problem.

 

Wondering if anyone is using/has used anything low-cost or OSS to do this sort of thing?
