I guess they could screen share with you and you can try talk them through it. Alternatively, you could use chrome remote desktop.

Google Meet doesn't offer a remote control facility so not really, no.

 

You're better off using Chrome Remote Desktop, Quick Assist (built into Windows 10) or using Teamviewer

It's reasonably handy - the user has control, there's no remote control facility, so the user can at least be assured that they are in control and you can't "break" their computer. More useful for walking users through doing something on a web site than for trouble-shooting hardware issues or similar - they have to already be at the point where they've managed to switch computer on, connect to the Internet, log on and start Meet.

Nope, they open Quick Assist, click Get Assistance and enter a code. If it doesn't work due to a network issue or something, I direct people to download Teamviewer QS. IIRC they made their licensing a bit more lax during this period...

If they cant install stuff like we have set up, They wont be able to do any of that.

As long as the issue isn't complex and the user isn't completely dim, you can use meet to assist, it's actually quite good as the user then does the action themselves and maybe even learns

You might also want to look at remotedesktop.google.com .

So simple to use and very responsive. Only issue is you can't chat to the user but you can control their machine. It works the same as windows remote assist. Have used it to connect to windows machines, Chromebooks and macs. You could use it in conjunction with Google Meet to speak to the user and control the machine.
