Financial impact on schools of lockdown

I can only assume for all our schools losses that we're personally saving much much more on not paying supply staff than anything else.

We've saved a chunk on printing costs. The amount of mock exams papers that are usually printed off in preparation for the GCSEs obviously weren't needed, so that has saved thousands...

hah yea I expect we've done the same - Tho the amount that was printed in the last week before lockdown might outweigh that - It was slightly insane the amount of toner/paper we went through.

It's an important point. I've long been an advocate of using technology to enhance the learning experience, but it can also be used to make monetary savings. Even in school, greater use of screen based solutions can cut printing costs significantly. I'm hoping one outcome of a huge number of schools having exposure to what's possible will in some way open minds for when they return. As always, the mindset change is a bigger challenge than implementing the technology.
