Our school is moving over from the Parent App to Edulink. Has anyone else done this and how did you cancel the Parent App and transfer parents over to Edulink? We have Edulink all set up and ready to go but that's as far as we've got so far...... Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Didn't move from Parent App, but do have Edulink One.

Have you got your SMTP setting in the communicator tool? Once the communicator tool is setup and sending emails fine you can go into the logon screen and mass mail a welcome email to all parents. It sends them an email with theirs Username, a link to set their password and links to the apps. We did modify ours slightly (I am sure I did that in the logon screen) to include the School ID, just to make things easier.

Literally clicked the mail button at the bottom of the logon screen (after loading user accounts) and just sent them out. We did send a letter first to say this would be happening and what account it will come from.

Also, Welcome to edulink we love it here at our place

With EduLink, set up your SMTP Communicator like BKGarry said and send out links for the parents via email. Obviously inform them of the intention to move beforehand otherwise they might think it's a phishing scam. In the user management of EduLink, you can modify the email it sends out and the expiration of the link, for our initial batches we had the expiration set to something like a month as we knew parents wouldn't get around to it, we put information about where to find more info (our website) and the school ID in the body of the email as well.

For parents without an email on SIMS, you can do the following:

1) Login to the EduLink One Admin > Login

2) Scroll down to the bottom, expand your user accounts section

3) Type "parent" into the user type filter

4) Change the [Please Select] drop down to Export Filtered and export to a CSV

5) Manipulate the data to get the details of the parents without emails.

Any parent without an email address had their username sent in one letter and the password sent in another.
