azure ad sync Can it write back into Activedirectory?

Been using azure ad sync for years and haven't touched it in an age. We recently got rid of the local exchange server and it's all good. BUT the pupils in AD don't show their email addresses.

Longer answer: No, apart from some very specialised attributes which likely be of no use to what you're trying to achieve.

btw what is azure AD Connect and AD Connect with PTA? Upgrades or not for me?
