Teams membership

Hi all

 

Rolling out Teams at the moment and disappointed to find that you can't add an AD group (synced from on-prem) to a Team. I've ready about Dynamic Office 365 groups which I thought would give me what I'm looking for but alas they're not available without P1 Azure licences.

 

How is everyone else managing Teams membership? I know Salamander can create class Teams based on MIS data but at the moment I want to create department Teams for staff based on group membership which we already have in AD groups.

 

Anyone got any bright ideas?

Groups should sync if they have a mail address:

 

To synchronize an Active Directory group to Azure AD as a mail-enabled group:

 

If the group's proxyAddress attribute is empty, its mail attribute must have a value

Yep our groups are mail-enabled and sync fine - can see them in Exchange but not in Teams....

Did you sync them very recently?

No, they've been synced to Azure AD via Azure AD Connect for years.... they're not new groups.

In https://portal.office.com/adminportal/home#/groups I see a AD synced Security Group, teachersGG, its group email is teachers@, its Group Name is the displayName field in AD, its type is Mail-enabled security

 

In Teams I can add that group via its Group name

Thanks for the reply. On that group in AD, is the scope set to Global or Universal?
