RDS through Sophos XG

Hi all,

 

I'm looking to allow access for a couple of apps through our Sophos box. I've allowed ports 443, 80 and 3389.

 

When you go to the /RDweb URL, all works well. However when you go to launch an app, the RDP console opens and fails to initiate the connection.

 

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what I may have missed? I assume it will be a port or an IPS function enabled somewhere!

Allowing port 3389 is a really bad idea as there are many exploits for RDP. You should be using a Remote Desktop Gateway on port 443 to tunnel everything through.

 

Are you trying to use the RD Web Access or RD Web Client (there is a difference, Web Access downloads .rdp files to run whereas Web Client is a proper HTML5 RDP client that runs entirely in the browser)?
