[ms office - 2019] Office can't access the internet whilst Direct Access is in use.

Office 2019 apps can't access the internet when a user is using direct access. The upshot is that all the office apps take an age to start or access anything.

 

so if your offline office is fast,

if your at work office is fast and internet available,

if you are home connected to private internet and have disconnected direct access the office is fast and internet available,

if you are home and connect to private internet and have direct access ON then office takes an age to start and can't get online.

 

This is annoying, office can see the internet connection and tries to fetch internet assets but can't so it takes an age to time out...

 

Anyone have any ideas?

 

Using the online pictures is how I know things are going wrong with office.

 

EDIT: Direct access is configured to get the internet access locally NOT through direct access.
