mdrabble Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 At certain times of the day (break and lunch) we automatically release the Mag-lock on our external doors to our AstroTurf and outdoor seating areas to allow students free access in and out of the building. I have been asked if there is a quick and easy way to over-ride the timezone settings so all door are locked and to override access levels to prevent people from re-entering the building using their ID Badges (only involves 6th Form Students and Staff) Alternatively, can people let me know how they go about managing Net2 during a lockdown. Cheers
TechMonkey Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 (edited) Yes, there is a Lockdown feature in Net2. In the Server config application go to the Features tab and tick "Security Lockdown integration". You should now have some new options in the client: - Under "View" tick the option for "View Lockdown Status" and you will get a new button in the top right. - In each user there is a tickox in the bottom right to exclude a user from Lockdown rules I think there is some more options but I can't remember at the moment. But that should get your started. EDIT: The official documentation for lockdown https://www.paxton-access.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/AN1122.pdf. I'd forgotten that you have to create the rule manually and can set what doors it affects. Edited March 3, 2020 by TechMonkey 2
robk Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 EDIT: The official documentation for lockdown https://www.paxton-access.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/AN1122.pdf. I'd forgotten that you have to create the rule manually and can set what doors it affects. THIS! It should work as long as you have the pro version of net2. We use double tap of a set of cards to trigger lock down, and double tap of SLT cards to release.
robyholmes Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 We've got this setup with a set of lock down fobs in our main office. Mounted up high out the way so they don't get borrowed... That would be fun. 1
ITGURU Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 has anyone actually tested this in a lockdown situation? do you have readers on either side of the doors? We only have readers to enter the buildings and exit push buttons to exit. Lockdown in net2 wouldnt work for us because paxton told me that in lockdown down, push to exit buttons are disabled.

Certain staff are allowed bypass during a lock down. However it's not trigger straightaway, it's a judgement call depending on what's happening.
mavhc Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 How many times have you used it? What for? Does the fire alarm override it?
mdrabble Posted March 9, 2020 Author Posted March 9, 2020 Thanks for the info - works a treat. To save having to have people logged into Net2 and somone going to an external door to tap their badge X number of times to activate the lock down - I was thinking if there was anyway a shortcut of some kind could be created to enable/disbale the Net2 Lockdown? Anyone know if this is possible or done this before? Cheers
