hudsen123 Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 We're looking into the possibility of outsourcing the role of DPO. Is there a provider of this type of service that anyone would recommend?
paulkerton Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 I guess it all depends on how big your organisation is.
hudsen123 Posted February 27, 2020 Author Posted February 27, 2020 Oops should have mentioned that! We're a secondary school with about 830 pupils.
GrumbleDook Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 It also depends on what you want the DPO to do, how hands on they are for all activities or whether you need them to support the building of the right culture in the school ... or both.
hudsen123 Posted February 28, 2020 Author Posted February 28, 2020 We don't need them to be very hands on but we would like them to check that we are complying with the necessary requirements. We would probably also want them to be a source of advice when needed.
LukeRowberry Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 (edited) Judicium are very good Edited February 28, 2020 by LukeRowberry
psydii Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 Consider Judicium. The way it works here is I do the leg work and training. The Business Manager provides the clout, and Judiciuim are(*) the DPO who over see our work and report to governors. (to be specific, a named lawyer in Judicium is the DPO, but we mostly engage with their team)
Claireashton Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 Chorus Advisers offers a nice service for schools at a good price. Definitely worth adding to your list: https://chorusadvisers.co.uk/
Areku Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 we use https://www.sptcompliance.co.uk/ always happy to assist with an query's we have, and works with us to make sure we are ticking the boxes, and one of their employees is listed as our DPO. 1
