fiza Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 Does anyone know if Neverware Cloudready will work with Papercut for printing? Tried to deploy the Mobility Print App but Android apps don't seem to be supported by Cloudready.
localzuk Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 Have you tried these instructions: https://www.papercut.com/support/resources/manuals/mobility-print/mobility-print-devices/topics/en/client-setup-chrome.html# 1
fiza Posted February 17, 2020 Author Posted February 17, 2020 Thanks. That's working now for the app to ask for username and password but here the users authenticate to the MFDs with pin numbers. How do I change it so the app asks for s pin number or the print is sent and the user authenticates at the copier?
localzuk Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 I don't think you can - the username and password is needed by the print server itself I believe, just like if you print from Windows etc... 1
fiza Posted February 17, 2020 Author Posted February 17, 2020 I don't think you can - the username and password is needed by the print server itself I believe, just like if you print from Windows etc...We have papercut set up to accept pin numbers so when they print from Windows they have to release the prints at the copier by typing their pin.

Yes, but you don't put the PIN in when printing - Windows uses your login credentials to do it. The PIN is just auth direct with Papercut. When you send a print job, it uses your username and password to authenticate with the print server, not just the PaperCut server.
fiza Posted February 17, 2020 Author Posted February 17, 2020 So there is no way to print from the cloudready devices using our current system? At the cloudready device the user is typing their ad username and password. It's being accepted and the user can send the print. At the printer the user types their pin but there is no job waiting to be released. If I look at the print queue on the server the job is paused. Not sure where to go from here.
localzuk Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 They should be seeing their print job if their PIN is assigned to the same account as their AD username and password - if they're not seeing it, there's something wrong somewhere else I think? They don't somehow have 2 accounts on Papercut do they? 1

localzuk Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 Next thing to check - the printer you're printing to, is it assigned to the release station? Other than that, I can't think why it wouldn't appear. Might be worth contacting your Papercut support people (ITS do the support for us). 1

MatthewL Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 if you go to printers and then jobs pending release at the top can you see the job you have submitted, who does it show the username as? Also presume the printer you are printing to if your followme one, does that work fine in windows? On the Cloudready device what credentials are you authenticating as?

On the cloud ready device I am authenticating as a windows ad user with the ad password.
MatthewL Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 If you publish a direct printer can you print something to check that works? If jobs are not showing in the release you have an issue, anything in the logs? 1

MatthewL Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 Does it show the correct user in the printer when you directly print that you are expecting it to be? On your follow me have you got any scripts or restrictions? Also not using a client popup that is timing out on the Cloudready device? 1

Will check tomorrow and let you know.
MatthewL Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 If it's the client you will need to run the web version of the client via http://yourprintserver:9191/client and login with credentials you can select accounts there. 1
GaryPad Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 There are a lot of suggestions of things to try on this page on the PaperCut website: https://www.papercut.com/kb/Main/MissingOrDisappearingPrintJobs 1
jasonatpapercut Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 Hi Fiza, Jason here from PaperCut. Were you able to resolve this with iTS support? Definitely sounds like a config issue somewhere, and best to walk through your configuration with a support person.
