Unifi to RM Unify wireless vlan guest network

I can connect to our Guest network setup on the router via a cable and putting in a static address but I cannot get it to ping the router when I try wirelessly. We had this setup originally with Smoothwall and a vlan but the similar setup with RM Unify is not working, does anyone else have a similar setup? My guess is there is something I am missing on the unifi controller?

Is your AP tagged with your guest network VLAN on the switch port as well as the uplink?

I found the issue being I had the vlan ticked in wireless networks as well as networks, it seems I only needed it ticked in networks.

Something is still causing a problem that as soon as I connect the router with the configured guest ip range this seems to overright the dhcp on the server and starts to hand out guest ip's instead of the school network IP's which means no network drives and no printing !
