As we are very recent users of Google Classroom (no "classrooms" setup as of yet) I was wondering if it's possible to bring over the classes from Bromcom or if it's better for staff to manage their own - i guess the down side to staff managing their own is they would be creating classes for each assignment.

I was also wondering how others manage their school's Google Classroom as i can see things getting a bit messy when it comes to the end of the year and transistioning between year groups.

You'll be wanting to talk to SalamnderSoft:

They'll be able to sort out getting both user and class data out of Bromcom and into GSuite for you, all automatically updated.

Wonde are the other people to speak to, especially if you've already got Wonde working for other solutions. They also offer single sign-on solutions and QR code login for the younger/less able students. They also have some excellent automated processes for user creation/suspension and having the ability to see

Thanks, im not sure if the powers that be will be wanting to pay for software so i guess it's up to the staff to manage it themselves - looks like this could get messy!

From my brief research into this for Google Classroom, Salamander does indeed look to be a very decent solution for exactly what you want. It does a ton of other stuff to, and the pricing is very reasonable.

If they're managing their own, you will have to get a process in place for when staff leave, as Classrooms belong to the staff member. If you delete the staff member before transferring the classroom to a new staff member, you may have issues.

Sell it on how much staff time it will save, multiple by teacher cost per hour, point out you've just saved them £10k

This! £40 a month is the cost of Wonde for secondary schools. That's 4 hours of a person's time a month for someone on the living wage.

No more manual user creation. No more complaints from teachers when the person who is responsible for telling you that a new child has been put on roll has forgot to, so the kid in their class hasn't had a login for a month, and now that's your fault! :D
