sted Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 i suspect its poor wording you cant go ftl but you can send more data per time unit or more data with thinner strands so you can get more data in a given cable diamater

Current ethernet connections work at 100 megabits a second, a thousand times less quick. short distances is a small phrase doing a lot of work right there Ethernet hasn't been at 100mbps as standard for about a decade If they've only just done the proof-of-concept work, it's about 10-15 years away at least, by which time 10Gbps may well be the common standard, and then this is far less impressive In short: tabloid reporting!
