On an ebike website I keep an eye on people are discussing towing trailers behind ebikes

 

One person was saying it is OK to carry a 6x4 sheet of plywood on his trailer

 

let just hope he doesn;t try to do it on Saturday or Sunday

I booked tickets to see Sonic The Hedgehog movie this afternoon several days ago when Storm Dennis was still being talked about as 'not going to be as bad as Ciara'.

The cinema is just by the Ribble which burst it's banks for many miles (see Dave's pics in this thread) last week. Given the ground is still saturated, it's not going to take long for this to be the case again.

Apart from this trip out, I think I have another few days hunkered down indoors and I hope all of you stay safe too.

Storm Dennis is expected to bring very heavy rain, flooding and disruption to travel over the weekend.

 

What to expect

 

• Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, causing a danger to life

• Damage to buildings and structures or building collapse might happen
  
• Road may potentially close, along with bus and train service delays and cancellations and dangerous driving conditions might occur, because of spray and flooded roads
  
• Loss of power and other essential services, such as gas, water or mobile phone services, is possible
  
• Communities could be completely cut off by floodwater, perhaps for several days

After seeing the footage from Heathrow and other airports over the past couple of weeks, it really does give you confidence in the skills of commercial airline pilots.

Been pretty awful up here in Shropshire also. Thankfully me & the wife live away from the river but I know of many people whose homes have been flooded.

 

 

Wen to a friends house on Saturday night to have a couple of drinks and a catchup, started driving back at around 2am and there was just no way, I watched a Lorry go through some standing water and it covered both it's tyres which where nearly as big as my car. I turned around and we had to ask our friends if we could stop the night, the next day though all the water had disappeared, not sure where it went but I got home fine!

Tonbridge town centre has gone under again. It’s deeper than it was a couple of months ago.
