zag Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Ok this has taken up 10mins of my time already and I'm stumped. Trying to get XP on a new laptop that has vista on it. XP install says it cant see and hard disks as its got a sata controller. Cool press F6 to install some drivers, errr no floppy drive :/ Is there an easy way of downgrading to XP?
linkazoid Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 You can use either a USB Floppy disk, or disable SATA native mode in the BIOS. A bit more info would help - Make and Model?
PeterW Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 You need to disable AHCI in the BIOS if possible, look for option like AHCI or SATA Mode AHCI/Enhanced/IDE/Compatability Where possible disbale AHCI and switch any SATA mode options to compatible or IDE.
