[1809, ou] Strange Pojector and Computer Issue

Problem is as follows

 

Teacher loads PowerPoint into full screen into and freezes the projector on the slide that they want frozen. Teacher then minimizes powerpoint and goes to Chrome and at that point display settings reset to monitor only and the projector then says no input.

 

Drivers are up to date and latest version of windows, this has happend on previous ones as well. We have tried office 2016 and office 365 and have the same results.

 

The way the equipment is setup is that HDMI from machine to projector and VGA from PC to Monitor. All cables have been swapped.

is PowerPoint switching to the presenter view?

 

The one where you get all the notes on the main screen and the slideshow only on the projector?

 

I suspect the answer is yes, as that swaps the computer into extend, and then when you exit powerpoint, it goes back to duplicate, which makes the projector think you have disconnected and reconnected and therefore turns off the freeze.

 

In 2019 it is no longer called presenter view but the options are in the same place.

have you disabled the hardware acceleration?

 

it is sounding like something it taking over the screen settings and changing them, which is acting like a disconnect. Very strange indeed
