StoneGroup_JackW Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 Hi @Jcx500 we can certainly offer tablets and MDM solutions dependent on your needs. do you have a specific brand in mind?
Jcx500 Posted January 8, 2020 Author Posted January 8, 2020 not a specific brand in mind, just looking at low-mid range tablets
StoneGroup_JackW Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 Hi @Jcx500, i will PM you some options for pricing.
TechMonkey Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 We got a nice batch of Samsung Tab A (2018)s that have gone down well. We got them from Haptic. There is a slightly smaller 2019 version but it only had 2GB RAM. We use InTune as our MDM. 1
TwistedHelixis Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 We got the Samsung TAB A (2019) 8 inch, they have been great. We use G Suite as the MDM, although this is not perfect for what I want it does the basics. 1
Meldrew Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 I know you said tablets, but do consider chromebooks. Having tried the low end tablets, we found chromebooks to be a better solution and can be managed via G-Suite. Meldrew. 1
TechMonkey Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 We did get an ASUS Chromebook Tablet CT100PA that is quite nice. Chromebook features with tablet form. Though I'm not sure ChromeOS is quite ready for tablet input it is a nice tablet. 1
mavhc Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 Which tablets can be locked down enough to let pupils loose on them? Can you disable turning off wifi/removing ssids/etc? Lock down the home app? Do any support multiple users, ldap etc?
DSapseid Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 Another vote for the Asus ChromeTab. I bgot one for the Art teacher and she loves it. All locked down nicely from GSuite as well. Apparently is also really good for drawing on with the supplied stylus. 1
TronXP Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 We use the Chrometabs, locked down with gsuite. Just be aware of 2 things. Chrome OS camera's are poor compared to say an iPad (biggest complaint from teachers here). Secondly, we use android apps on them but a lot of the apps (such as Class Dojo) don't support the video format from ChromeOS (if I remember correctly it is WebM format).
