DJ-1701 Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 Trying to upgrade a couple of Windows 2012 R2 servers to Windows 2019... everything appears to go fine during the initial install process then after first reboot I get recovery mode come up, turning the machine off and on again it boots back into Windows 2012 R2 with the following message. The troubleshooting hyperlink takes you here, which is what I have followed. https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/10587/windows-10-get-help-with-upgrade-installation-errors It suggests... A driver has caused a problem. Disable or remove all 3rd party antivirus or antispyware from your system. Disconnect all peripheral devices that are connected to the system, except for the mouse, keyboard and display. Contact your hardware vendor to obtain updated device drivers. Unfortunately there isn't anything to disconnect... and I didn't need to install any drivers for 2012 R2 originally... and there is no indication what it failed on in C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther\setupact.log or setuperr.log that I can see. Anyone got any ideas?
DJ-1701 Posted January 9, 2020 Author Posted January 9, 2020 I will add that this appears to happen with 2016 as well... and a fresh installation of 2019 works perfectly.
