DalekSec Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 Just seen the first things coming out of CES, but most notably for me... the Ryzen Threadripper 3990x.... 64 cores, 128 threads at 4.3GHz Boost 2.9Ghz base at a toasty 230w! In a desktop socket, that is a beast! (**Cough** it is £4k)
hardtailstar Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 I dont know if its me that everything has got gimmicky at CES but I'm more interested in what 'Youtubers/journalists' take in their bags to CES! 1
Dos_Box Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 Nice to see AMD starting to hit the laptop market with Ryzen. Not seen any mid-range chips in there yet (happy to be corrected) as the press seem to be focussing on entry/high level parts. And I want one of those laptop lids!!!

bald_pig Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 64 cores in one die, or one package? One package, it's across 8 CCDs apparently. 1
flyinghaggis Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 (edited) I love the design of the new Intel ghost canyon NUC which can now accommodate larger video cards like an RTX 2070. https://www.theverge.com/2020/1/7/21051879/intel-pc-nuc-9-extreme-ghost-canyon-element-hands-on-teardown-ces-2020 That and one of those new Samsung G9 49" ultrawide monitors to go with it would look good on my desk https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2020/1/3/21047322/samsung-odyssey-g9-g7-curved-gaming-monitor-49-inch-qled-display-specs-ces-2020 Edited January 7, 2020 by flyinghaggis
hardtailstar Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 Sony has made an electric car. 😮 Citroen C6.....?
Arthur Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Citroen C6.....? 2012 Maserati Quattroporte perhaps? 🤔 The rear tail light is a bit like a cross between the one from the 2020 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid and a Jaguar E-Pace. 😄 Maybe it's just me, but clear rear lights always seem to remind me of Saabs like the 9-5 Aero. https://icdn-3.motor1.com/images/mgl/V2lMR/s1/saab-new-9-5.jpg 1
Arthur Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Samsung Pixelbook Galaxy Chromebook (with 4K AMOLED screen).
Arthur Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 A TV to watch vertical videos on! https://youtu.be/YCHgVxPIIDI
Arthur Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 There are lots of devices with foldable screens at CES. CES 2020 has demonstrated the state of foldable screen technology. We look at Intel's Horseshoe Bend prototype, Dell's Concept Ori and Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 Fold. On one hand, the showings have convinced me that these products will be a big deal at some point. On the other, they’ve convinced me that that point is some way off.
