snagrat Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Does anyone else have issues printing from Edge, mainly PDFs. It also seems to happen when using the Windows Photo app. The document will not print and blocks the print queue which we have to manually clear on the server. We do advise to use Chrome but some people do not listen! This is without using any management tools such as Papercut.
snagrat Posted November 26, 2019 Author Posted November 26, 2019 Some do, but we are seeing it on printers that do not.
Chrisbf1 Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Only way round this I found was to use group policy and a default file association that makes pdf default to adobe reader
chazzy2501 Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 this happens all the time (twice today), I'm afraid that I've caved in and put Adobe's PDF reader back on Windows 10 machines. I have NEVER gotten any modern app to work consistently with our sharp's printer drivers (when it requires a pin/user number). This I think is because it's hard to change the default behaviour that allows a pop-up to work. It'll work 100% with old style programs notepad and office. but the modern app is supposed to flag that user input is required but it rarely works and the print queue is held up waiting for a user number that isn't coming.
sted Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 you can also now use gpo to block edge from printing at all (you need a specific windows version and associated admxs its either 1809 or 1903 though)
