Microsoft Forms - behaviour change to no longer autocreate spreadsheet in sharepoint?

Today (while demonstrating MS Forms to a coworker) I noticed the interface / default behaviour had changed. And I didn't spot a corresponding announcement in the Message Centre.

Last week:

  • Create Microsoft Form using 365 > Forms > New Form
  • Add question
  • Submit test response
  • Go to responses tab > open in Excel
  • Opens spreadsheet in browser from the OneDrive of the user who created the form.
  • Also options to sync results to new spreadsheet etc

This week:

[*]Create Microsoft Form using 365 > Forms > New Form

    [*]Add question

    [*]Submit test response

[*]Go to responses tab > open in Excel

    [*]Prompts to download spreadsheet only.

    [*]Hasn't created spreadsheet in OneDrive

[*]No option to sync results to new spreadsheet.

    [/List]

Already-created forms still work properly, but any new forms created via the 365 > Forms route lack the old functionality.

Poking around reveals you can make this work via OneDrive > New > Forms for Excel still.
