conehead Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 BBC - Doctor Who - Trailer Maker My critical view of what's wrong with this series of Dr Who, She's enough to make an Angel Weep
plexer Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 She has some good lines but sometimes it's just lauren or one of her other characters that comes through in her delivery. Ben
StewartKnight Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 I tell you whats wrong with Doctor Who Russell bloody Davies thats what! What was the point of the homosexual reference in Saturdays episode??? Ju.st because He's gay, doesn't mean we should have it thrust in our faces (so to speak!). It added nothing to the narrative, but was just another example of him trying to bolster his gay rights agenda Even that aside, it was a dreadful episode, I know it's supposed to be kid friendly, but it's supposed to be for adults too. Saturdays episode felt more like a cbbc programme, aside from the homosexuals! Plus, Martha Jones was a good assistant..... and they got rid of her! The Doctor is supposed to be knowledgable and wise, yet Russell Davis has him as flawed, weak and needing the guidance of his assistant. It should be the other way round! Doctor Who was at it's best when it was 4 half hour episode, each one ending on a cliff hanger.

And the whole homosexual reference thing just makes you sound like a homophobe. The Doctor has a weak side, and reflecting this in the show was a brilliant idea. It made the show much more accessible to a larger audience. It has gone past simply being a sci-fi show, and now also has aspects of drama in it. Much more interesting!
triggmiester Posted May 20, 2008 Author Posted May 20, 2008 ok very intreresting points but thats not this thread was about really. Just a bit of fun.
dhicks Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Have any of you Doctor Who fans out there tried the Doctor Who trailer maker on the BBC website? Ah ha! I said video editing was possible using nothing but Flash! Now all I have to figure out is how to get the Flash resource compiler to handle video... -- David Hicks
