LRSFC_DanJ Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 We seem to be having a problem with some (but not all) of our Windows 10 LTSC 1809 clients, where they are not getting registered in DNS. We're able to manually register affected machines using ipconfig /registerdns but it would be useful to be able to troubleshoot this and find out why it is happening. Can anyone suggest what we might try?
TwistedHelixis Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 Could this be to do with miss-configured DNS scavenging? I assume the DC did have those IP addresses. Sorry not my area of expertise and just throwing and idea your way.
LRSFC_DanJ Posted November 12, 2019 Author Posted November 12, 2019 Could this be to do with miss-configured DNS scavenging? OK but if the record was scavenged while the PC was off/not connected to the network, then surely it should come back once the PC is turned back on? This is not happening automatically.
