im looking at migrating our home drives over to onedrive but i'm also looking at other options of maybe mapping the drive as well i have seen some scripts which havent tested yet, but i wanted to get an idea of the easiest and best way that has been successful for other schools when moving data over to onedrive i have downloaded the new client and ran the OneDriveSetup.exe /allusers to make sure my test pupil can login thats ok,

im also worried about that when the program goes through the configuration of onedrive that it save to the c:\users\nameofpupil in this location, which i think will cause issues for us but any help would be great thanks

We use CDM from iamcloud.

Took a bit of fiddling to setup, but it does work well. Support is very good too.

The hardest part now is getting staff to use it.

Also used CDM from IAM Cloud at my previous place. Yes, took some time getting it set up and get folder redirection working properly but the support guys at IAM Cloud were really helpful. Staff took to it quicker than the sync client as having a mapped drive was more familiar.

Don't use 3rd party tools to map to onedrive. It's very much a camel in a horse race.

Assuming your version of Windows 10 is new enough, known folder move (as the migration to onedrive settings are known) is very smooth an painless and now supports redirected folders.

Agreed, you shouldn't use a third party tool when you can use the sharepoint migration tool and gpo's to set it up without!
