ClayAnimator software on Windows 10

Hi there,

Clay Animator How To Site: Free Stop Motion Animator Program

We have used this free program in the past for our stop motion animation filming. Recently migrated to Windows 10 and have just opened it up on one of the laptops to find that the program loads and is using the webcam on the laptop (as the little webcam light comes on) but the "live window" is just a black screen :-(

I have checked that the webcam is working in another program - but I wonder if there is something that the ClayAnimator program needs in order to work with Windows 10. Does anyone else use this and can perhaps suggest what else I need to make it work - or is there any other easy to use free stop motion animation software that I could have a look at?

https://www.charlielee.uk/boats-animator/ is an open source program. Doesn't need installing either. Super simple, capture, delete frames, onion skin, end up with a bunch of png files. Probably not ready for pupils to use yet though.

Thanks - this looks great! I have downloaded and had a play with it - it's perfect apart from not being able to save an animation once all the frames have been captured :-(

 

Does anyone have any other free stop motion animation programs they could recommend?
