We have been removing the photos app from windows 10 as part of our MDT task as we thought we wouldn't need it (Not sure why i took it out!).

 

We now have a need for the video editor in the photos app as a replacement for movie maker

 

Is there an easy way we can reinstall the photos app on all our machines?

Use Configmgr with Hybrid joined devices. It will keep it up to date as well.

I have tried running the below don't get any error but photos doesn't appear. Powsershell is running as administrator and am logged in as a domain admin

Any ideas? powershell isn't one of my strong points!

The powershell method will only show the Photos app for new users.

You have to run the command in the user context for existing profiles.

Its best to set the Microsoft Store for Education.

Out of curiosity why are you looking to replace movie maker? If I was to remove movie maker here the backlash would be massive.

Movie maker is EOL and hasn't been updated since 2012. There are free alternatives.
