The MFL department has a budget for video hardware. I wanted some dedicated devices that say had a 40" portrait screen, a camera n mic, and simple or dedicated software for video calls.

 

Does anyone know of something like that?

We use this across our MAT. Its probably out of your price range but its really good and simple to use

Can't comment on hardware but for internal calls we use the free version of Truconf.

Microsoft Surface Hub 2 - perfect if you're using Skype for business. Some good stuff about it here. Otherwise stay well away from it! Edited October 24, 2019 by SamDavis

We just started using Google Meet to conference with university in the USA. Worked a treat all we needed was a single chromebook. Get a USB external MIC for higher quality if you can.

 

The head was well chuffed - no need to spend £20k on some overpriced high end system! Do it for free!
