lkaylor Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 Our school has invested heavily into Pearsons' PowerMaths scheme. It is working great mostly BUT, we have introduced Benq Interactive screen RM6501K into school. It seems that the 'drawing tool' cannot be used with the Benq Touchscreens. The drawing tool just shows 'ghosting'. The drawing tool works on our older Smartboards. It's as if there is a 'layer' that is preventing the pen from working. I have raised this issue with Pearsons and Benq with no avail. If any one has any ideas I can try that would be appreciated. regards Lorraine
synaesthesia Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 I would imagine it's because Pearson isn't making correct use of HID input devices (keyboards, mice and in this case touchscreens) - and unfortunately wouldn't be out of character for anything Pearson to do to not work as it should; they will certainly be first port of call rather than BenQ.
lkaylor Posted October 11, 2019 Author Posted October 11, 2019 Thanks synaesthesia, I feel like I am going around in circles. I have raised another ticket with Benq again. I will see what they come back with but I suspect that you are right and that it is a problem with the functionality within the software rather than the hardware. I will update any findings here.
BenQ_Chris Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 Hello, I had this question asked just last week, hopefully I can shed some light on it. It is linked to the software not utilising HID drivers correctly, however I can provide some tips. It is model dependent. If you are using RMXX01K screens you CANNOT use the built in Android browser. If you are using RPXX01K screens you CANNOT use the built in Android browser, however if you download the Firefox browser you can use this If you are using a Windows 10 PC you CANNOT use Edge, however you can use Chrome. The issues are more than just the browser, they will be linked to how the software ustilises the HID drivers Is the software flash based? As this will be phased out in Chrome from December 2020. Hope this helps. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. 1
