Joanne Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 So just installed a nice new printer for the Accounts Manager and when she wants to print a report from FMS she gets: Floating Point Overflow The printer is fine on other applications. Tried a reboot of the machine. Considering installing the printer locally instead of through the network. Any other ideas of what the hell this means? Thankies!
madslug Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Had this when printing to an HP Colour Laserjet via the network, our SIMS team tried loads of things but eventually I had to install it locally. Have not had a problem since. 1
Joanne Posted May 16, 2008 Author Posted May 16, 2008 ahhh... it IS a HP Colour Laserjet... I shall install it locally then... stupid sims!
madslug Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Just out of interest Jo is it connected via the network interface or is it shared from a PC's USB port?
Michael Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 It's because FMS is still 16bit and not a 32bit application. I have the exact same problem with a product called Testbase. As already mentioned, by creating a local port, printing should then work fine.
Joanne Posted May 16, 2008 Author Posted May 16, 2008 installed it locally now... need to wait for her to test it.
Joanne Posted May 16, 2008 Author Posted May 16, 2008 it was connected via ethernet and installed on the server... but usb-ed to now... just waiting
