Hi all,

We have a user who is reporting that SIMS (hosted in school) is slow. When I have watched them work, it does lag between sections, choosing students etc. No one else is reporting this issue.

Apart from the usual reinstall etc, is there anything else I can look for to improve performance? Any cache stores anywhere?

Thanks

Could get them to logout of sims and rename/delete my sims documents and tempSimsRpt - they are usually in their documents folder. This has fixed problems with reports - the folders will be recreated when they log back in.

Is it the same spec PC as everyone else? What is the specification on the PC? RAM / SSD / etc?

May be worth bringing task manager up to see CPU usage etc whilst they are using it?

Yeah same spec as other PCs. i5 4570, 8gb ram, 250 SSD, the same as everyone else. Usage seems fine!

Thanks I'll give that a go!

We had a similar issue with one of our users but that turned out to be because they were using the Network Pass through on their phone, changed them to a direct connection and it was fine.

Offering it up just in case you do that.

Might sound stupid but we had one once where the graphics driver was out of date. The user reported that sims flickered a lot, when they were minimising or moving the window and when it loaded data. Updated the graphics and it reduced it (Sims is still Sims) and that in turn cut things loading by 1-2 seconds.
