Hi all,

What are your thoughts on reMarkable - the paper tablet?

Looking for something for note taking at meetings, reviewing documents etc.

I was looking at some sort of tablet solution like the Surface Go or similar until someone informed me about reMarkable.

Anyone had experience with either for taking notes etc? Like the email facility on the Surface Go which the reMarkable doesn't have - not a deal breaker though.

Thanks

having just looked at the Remarkable tablet, it doesn't look very remarkable.

Id go with the Surface Go or any Samsung tablet with a pen. way more functions and apps you can get for Note taking.

I use a tablet for meetings a lot. I started with a Samsung Galaxy Note which had a pen and was brilliant and, when it became too sluggish, moved on to a Pixel C without and I struggled to find a decent pen for it.

As other frustrations grew with the Pixel C, it has been relegated to an email and app device which my daughter is using. I have recently switched to iPad and Apple Pencil.

The pen is worth it’s weight in gold for annotating pdf paperwork and I would ensure that whatever you get has that.

Thanks for the feedback and recommendations. It has been very helpful.

I think will be going with the Surface Go since iPad too expensive.

Any recommendations for apps for note taking?

a friend of mine loves his remarkable with Windows10, thinks it's great and v useful in meetings, I had a play was really impressed, and thought "I might get one of those"

however, when I googled it and saw the price I thought "it's good, but not that good"

I've never found anything more effective and useful than a normal pen and pad of paper.

Solar powered too! You don't even need that much light. I have the super-duper graphite stylus model, which is erasable.

Absurd price for a tablet with only 20% of the functionality of a normal tablet!

That's quite cheap compared to other large screen eInk devices.

I did get one of the Rocket books which has an App to allow uploading to various cloud storage and apps just by ticking a shape. It is quite nice to have an electronic copy that can then be erased. I find I use OneNote on a tablet or my phone more though
