Koldov Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 (edited) Came back into school to find an email informing me of a 30 day notification of the expiry of our Push Certificate... Followed the instructions on the Cisco Meraki page and renewed it, downloaded, uploaded, did a silly little dance, sacrificed a computer, lit a candle... Anyway, I tested the cert in Meraki, all good. Just looked at some of our iPads.... Push Cert = Non Compliant... and this appears to be the same for the other hundreds of iPads we have... How are these iPads using an out of date certificate, the other one hadn't even expired and the new one has just been issued! It appears I now have to go and manually re-enrol them all.... ITGuyNW Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Did you use the same apple login ID on the push portal to renew the certificate that you used for last years one?
ITGuyNW Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Wait a minute....Just seen this when I logged into Meraki. I still have 193 days left. If I test the certificate..
Koldov Posted September 5, 2019 Author Posted September 5, 2019 Actually I was just going to add that I may have used a different email address!!!! But I didn't remember what I used last time as we have 2... However, I was reassured by reading the following (my bold): In order to use iOS devices with Systems Manager, you must upload an Apple MDM push certificate. To complete this process, you must have an Apple ID (any valid Apple ID will do, or click here to create one). Both the Apple ID and the certificate can be created free of charge.
Koldov Posted September 5, 2019 Author Posted September 5, 2019 Well, just did a bit of further reading.... Looks like I'm out of luck! Everyday is a school day...
DJ-1701 Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Could you possibly create a new cert still with the right apple account and upload that and the devices then be happy? E-mail address should be the one that the 30 day notification was sent to. 1

Katy Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Yeah this. If you login with the original info you can get the correct certificate. But if you do this after it's expired then you get to go round resetting every single ipad. So get on it quick. (Totally not bitter from having to do this myself, honest) 1
Koldov Posted September 5, 2019 Author Posted September 5, 2019 Interesting...... worth a shot! I thought it was doubtful, it looks like they've lost contact... They won't refresh details or check-in... Not sure the MDM is still able to control the devices now they appear to have been un-enrolled?
Koldov Posted September 5, 2019 Author Posted September 5, 2019 Thanks guys, that seems to have worked!!!! Thank goodness for EDUGEEK! 2
